Announcing a brand-new original design—the “Desktop Helper: Excavator linkage with multi-tool”!

This is more than just a display piece!

⚙️ High Fidelity: Every movement is based on the kinematic principles of a real excavator linkage, allowing it to replicate any excavator linkage poses perfectly.

✍️ A True Desktop Helper: It's more than just a display piece! As more work tools are unlocked, the possibilities are endless. There's always a “fun”ction perfect for your desktop.

🧩 Modular and Expandable: The core of this project is its modularity. This goes beyond easy 3D printing. It means a whole future of swappable components awaits!

Get ready! This project is launching soon on MakerWorld. Head over to the👉 pre-launch page 👈now to follow it!

There will be a limited number of Early Bird rewards at a great price right at launch, so don't miss out!

======

I'm also excited to have your support in smashing those stretch goals to make this project even bigger and better for everyone.

======

Now for the fun part—I want to hear from you! What's the number one thing you'd want this excavator linkage to do for you? Or, what new tool are you most excited to unlock? Drop your ideas in the comments below!

@SyncMelic Thank you for being so supportive! The grading beam, a tool with a card slot feature, is on my to-do list. I hope it can be unlocked soon after the project's launch!

@SyncMelic Thank you for your interest in this project, and I apologize for the wait. It should be open this week, as I'm working on the final picture and video. Those took more time than I thought...

@SyncMelic The base model has around 4-6 plates, depending mainly on whether you want to print in multicolor or not, as I separated different color parts into different plates. Each extra tool ranges from 2 to 3.

@QuitePuzzled I'd love an entire hand that could go on a supersized version of this and do laundry.

@SyncMelic Haha, if I can convince my wife to let me spend the kind of money that could buy a whole new laundry set on the latest H2D, you bet I’ll build one right away!

@SyncMelic I was really into the idea before, but let’s be real—if the build cost is low (like using cheap motors and controllers), it’s hard to make it work well. If it’s too high, then hey, why not just buy a new printer? 😅 I also recall that someone had already created a plate-changing setup on the A1 platform using a nice mechanical design (not a robotic arm). The downside is that it takes up extra desktop space and needs multiple extra print boards, so I never tried...

@SyncMelic The linear actuator of this scale is either too weak or too expensive, before I can find a good one...at least you can route a USB cable within it to "power" something ;)

@Houses @SyncMelic : Thats good to hear, but a proper RC excavator has backers with a lot more $$$$$ to spend. This projects success shouldnt stop you from doing both.

@Houses @SyncMelic : That would be so awesome, a remote controlled excavator is the top wished for RC item! I would definitely support that campaign!
