The Borchardt C93 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Hugo Borchardt in 1893. It was the first mass-produced semi-automatic/toggle-action pistol. Although the Borchardt pistol was accurate and fast, it was expensive and cumbersome to produce. DWM then appointed George Luger to improve the pistol as required.
