Dear Creators,
The model video upload feature on MakerWorld is launching soon. We look forward to seeing you share the joy of 3D printing creation in more vivid and diverse ways. To help you better understand the community's expectations for quality content and to jointly maintain a healthy content ecosystem, we hereby provide the following content guidelines.
🟢 Encouraged Content
Content that tends to receive positive feedback usually revolves around the creation process, the model itself, and the user experience. Model videos should meet the following basic requirements:
- Model as the Core Subject: The video content must focus closely on the model itself.
- Strong Topic Relevance: The content should be directly tied to the model's design, production, presentation, or creative background.
- Safe and Risk-Free: The displayed content must comply with safety standards and avoid hazardous guidance. For operations involving potential risks, please provide the necessary safety warnings.
Content that offers value in display, experience sharing, skill tutorials, or creative inspiration is all worth creating and sharing. You may also refer to the following directions when posting:
- Crafting & Techniques: In-depth handcrafting content such as the full assembly process, parts disassembly and structural explanations, painting and modification, weathering and repairs.
- Functional Demonstrations: Showcasing articulation, light-sound-motion integration, creative mechanism gameplay, and other functional features.
- Creation & Display: Creative displays of finished models, photography and scene setup, and the stories and pitfall-avoidance tips behind the creation.
- Reviews & Comparisons: Objective and authentic model reviews, side-by-side comparisons, and practical experience sharing.
🟡 Discouraged Content
To safeguard the overall content quality of models, the following types of videos may result in a model being restricted from display or removed:
- Videos in which the model appears merely as a background, prop, or gimmick, while the actual content focuses on daily life, entertainment, or other topics unrelated to the model.
- Low-quality videos that are empty in substance and lack any meaningful information.
- Content involving sensitive or hateful material, illegal or prohibited subjects, pornography or vulgarity, terror or violence, advertising or marketing, or other violations of the general community guidelines.
MakerWorld aims to protect every creator who loves to create and enjoys sharing through clear rules, ensuring that sincere and high-quality content reaches a wider audience. After the feature goes live, we will continue to listen to community feedback and work together with you to maintain a healthy creative ecosystem.
