A Small Lighthouse That Feels Like Home 🌊✨
A Small Lighthouse That Feels Like Home 🌊✨

Bringing the Atmosphere of Peggy’s Cove to the Desk 🌊

There are places capable of transmitting emotions even before being visited.
Peggy’s Cove, with its granite rocks, ocean waves and iconic lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic, has always been one of those places for me.

This project was born from the desire to transform that atmosphere into a warm and relaxing decorative object, designed specifically for home 3D printing.

The model is inspired by the famous Peggy’s Point Lighthouse in Nova Scotia, Canada, but it is not an official replica.
It is an artistic reinterpretation created to preserve the recognizable silhouette and maritime feeling while adapting the structure for practical, reliable and satisfying printing. (Maker World)

Designed Around Light

From the beginning, the goal was not simply to create a lighthouse model, but a small ambient lamp capable of creating atmosphere even when viewed from across the room.

For this reason, the project was designed around the Bambu Lab MH001 LED kit, allowing warm light to spread softly through the windows and upper lantern.

To improve the visual effect:

  • the walls feature a slightly textured surface to diffuse light more evenly
  • the lantern area was designed to create depth and realistic highlights
  • the balcony and upper details remain visually interesting even when the lamp is turned off

The result is a lighthouse that feels alive both day and night.

Modular Design for Easy Multicolor Printing

One of the most important aspects of the project was accessibility.

I wanted the model to look elegant even on single-color printers and to remain easy to customize without requiring AMS.

For this reason, several parts are separated:

  • balcony fence
  • window frames
  • lantern grid

This makes color separation simple and allows makers to personalize the final appearance with different filament combinations.

Optimized for Real Printing

As always, the focus was not only aesthetics, but also real printability.

The geometry was carefully designed to reduce supports to the minimum possible, limiting them only to a few necessary areas.

The windows include integrated removable supports designed to detach quickly, helping reduce cleanup time and material waste while preserving sharp details.

This approach comes directly from my philosophy regarding MakerWorld uploads: beautiful models should also be enjoyable and realistic to print. (Maker World)

More Than a Lighthouse

For me, lighthouses have always represented something more than architecture.

They are symbols of guidance, calm and distance.
A small light visible in the dark.

This project tries to capture exactly that feeling: a warm coastal atmosphere recreated through 3D printing.

Perfect for:

  • desk setups
  • bookshelves
  • bedside tables
  • reading corners
  • cozy ambient lighting

or simply for those who love the sea.

Thank you for supporting my work and my projects.
Seeing these ideas come to life inside your homes is always the most beautiful part of creating. 🌊
