Test plate for building blocks with various stud diameters.

I printed a baseplate for an acquaintance and discovered that the diameters vary depending on the printer, filament, and settings (in my case, 0.2mm smaller than defined), resulting in insufficient clamping properties.

To determine the diameters required for my setup in the CAD tool (OnShape), I printed this test plate. A clamping test with a specific building block allows the required diameter to be read and entered into the OnShape document for the baseplate (currently, various diameters from 4.80mm to 5.10mm in 0.05mm increments are available).

In addition to adjusting the diameter for clamping properties, the number of required rows/columns of the plate can also be specified, and the corresponding model is automatically generated.

The exact procedure for creating your own baseplate using a configurable OnShape design (released for copying and adaptation) is outlined in the attached documentation (PDF).

Note: If you wish to customize the test plate yourself (e.g., to add further diameters), you can create a copy of the design.
