Description

An adapter for fitting a 32 mm (outer dimension) extension / appliance into a 30 mm vacuum hose.

This is my first own 3D printed design and the 2nd thing I sliced myself, I guess especially on the slicing side there is room for improvement but it printed fine and fits with the 3th attempt.

The 32 mm side (thick end) is a bit tight, if it wont fit sand it down a little bit. I went in 0,4 mm steps due to nozzle size and while writing this I´m realizing that limitation is more for the wall thickness side than the diameter side (next time I should do that parametric to avoid thinking too much about that ~ outer diameter = inner diameter + 2mm ). Also I had to add that fillet in the inside else the overhang was too big and the print semi failed (would have been usable but not beautiful)

I found and printed that drill-dust-vacuum adapter partial visible on the fotos but it did not fit my vacum cleaner and then I was thinking that this could be a very good project for a quick cad design. (I used onshape but some NX and solid edge experience so it was pretty easy overall I guess. )

Overall I think this is a very good CAD and slicing learning thing and if you´re at least a bit CAD-curious I would recommend trying to design something similar if you need a different size instead of just scaling around.

I did not really research or look at other models here but there are only so many ways such an adapter can be designed (also I might have some somewhat similar but not as nice ones somewhere in my chaos (good thing I printed it red so I´ll probably not lose this one )
