Description

Update 10.01.2024

Some people comented that the 0.6mm front isn't thick enough. I added a Version with a 1mm front. I hope that will solve the problem.

I created my first Lightbox. :)

Use my print profile, it printed perfect on my P1S.

Electronics:

I used a 12V LED light strip, a DC barrel connector, a 12 V power supply and some wires

The power supply and the DC barrel connector I used

Assembly:

  1. Print the Front and the Back part. There are no holes in the model, just add the holes via Bambu Studio. It depends on your light strip or if you want to use a barrel connector. U can also just use a drill.
  2. Measure the length of the light strip.
  3. Solder the wires and the barrel connector to the light strip (picture 1, 2 and 3)
  4. Mount everything into the front part
  5. Fore the back part I used normal aluminum foil with some double sided tape to reflect the light. See pictures
  6. Close the box

Picture 3

Light without aluminum foil at the Back part, darker in the center
Light with aluminum foile in the Back part, light is more evenly

Add duoble sided tape to the back part
Cut the aluminum foil and tape it to the back part

Updated to 5 stars based on feedback Printed a few times at different flow rates, ultimately i agree with @jnholeman and it needs to be a tad thicker. Otherwise a great model and my step dad really enjoyed it :) Recommend using clear tape behind to keep it together

If you look at the pictures mine did stick together. I would say you should work on your filament setting.

Strength Issue:Design was great but the graphic fell out of the surround on the image file. We gave up after that happened and found a different option. Front is too thin, If you can modify the front to be 1-2 more layers I think it would be fine. No photos as it went into the trash.
