Monkey Selfie

Several monkey selfies were the subject of copyright disputes between 2011 and 2018. Perhaps the most famous of the monkey selfies was taken by a Crested Macaque named Naruto, and he is the main subject of this 3D model. I love how Naruto smiles as he looks into the lens. Although Naruto was positioned sideways in the original selfie, I straightened his posture and cropped to a standard 4x5 aspect ratio that is common to portrait photography. I used Chroma Canvas to generate the 3D model. To get the same look, you’ll need black, gray, green, and white filament. I disabled the prime tower because there are only a few color changes in the entire print, and there is no perceptible color bleeding without the prime tower. Chroma Canvas says that when slicing the model, it is possible that Bambu Studio will warn you about floating regions. If you receive this warning (I did not), it can be safely ignored. That is, you do not need to set infill to 100% (in contradistinction to HueForge), nor do you need to enable supports.

I have also uploaded a separate print profile for a frame which adds sturdiness to Chroma Canvas print. The frame fits the dimensions of the monkey selfie and has 0.75 mm tolerance in the X and Y axes. I use a few drops of superglue to secure the art to the frame. If you resize the artwork or frame, make sure you scale both of them proportionally.
