Description

I shoot most of my own content, so instead of buying an aluminum cage I designed one from scratch in Fusion 360 for my Canon T6i. This is the result, and it holds up to real shooting.

The whole thing is built around two ideas: modularity and quick changes. The handles ride on dovetail slides, so they lock solid when you are working and pop off just as fast when you want a low-profile rig. Up top there is a modular rail for mounting whatever the shot needs, whether that is a mic, a light, a monitor, or a top handle.

What you get

  • Cage body sized specifically for the Canon T6i / EOS 750D
  • Dovetail-sliding side handles (no hardware needed to attach them, just slide and seat)
  • Modular top rail for accessories
  • Standard 1/4-20 mount for the camera base and common accessory threads
