Bring a piece of algorithmic elegance into your space. Waveforms #5 is a stunning 40cm x 40cm contemporary wall art piece that bridges the gap between digital generative art and tactile 3D printing.
Designed using a fusion of Blender Geometry Nodes and OpenSCAD, this model transforms mathematical wave patterns into a dynamic, flowing topographic structure. Depending on the angle of light hitting the piece, the shadows shift, giving the impression of constant movement.

Print Settings & Advice
The default panel is 20cm x 20cm. Panels are numbered on the reverse - when looked at from the back, 1 & 2 are top left & right respectively, 3 & 4 are bottom left & right respectively. That means 1 & 2, and 3 & 4 are reversed when looked at from the front.
- Layer Height: 0.24mm (or 0.20 or 0.16mm for even smoother gradients on the curves).
- Infill: 1% gyroid recommended for some structural strenght & to prevent the back panel from warping.
- Walls/Perimeters: 2 walls
- Supports: Not required! The angles are designed to be self-supporting, allowing for a clean, hassle-free print.
- Material: Matte PLA works exceptionally well to emphasize the shadows and depth without distracting glares. Deep blues, charcoals, or crisp whites look phenomenal.
Assembly, Framing and Display
Use general purpose adhesive to mount each section squarely & accurately on the mounting board in the below layout (when viewed from the front).

The model is pictured framed within a 50cm IKEA Sannahed frame to give it a premium, gallery-style finish. It can be mounted using standard double-sided mounting tape, or placed directly into a deep 40x40cm frame backing.
