Description

Sun visor for Truckers.  This Chop Visor extension has been super-sized to accommodate the big rigs.  Remixed from my vehicle sun visor extension with side extender model, this version was inspired and tested by @DIM3NSIONALLY CHALLENG3D.  Many thanks to him for his design guidance and testing.

The model has been widened, and is too large for A, P and X series printers.   A larger format printer such as the H series printers is required.

Printing

  • Large format printer required (H series)
  • Use filament capable of withstanding the high temperatures in your truck (ABS, ASA, PETG, etc.)
  • 0.4mm Nozzle, 0.2mm Layer Height, 2 Walls, No support required
  • Print plates 1 & 2.  Then select one side extension from plates 3, 4, or 5.

Assembly

  • No additional hardware required
  • Use your favorite glue to secure the clips and rails
  • It is important to assemble the clips last (step 4).  Use this sequence:
    1. Snap the two long Rails onto the flat side of the Slide.  Pinch each post firmly to snap each into the holes.
    2. Slide the Side Extension (with the long grooves) onto the rails orienting the rounded corners of the Side Extension with the rounded corners of the Slide.  The front edges will line up if done correctly.
    3. Orient the Base (has large holes and a truss like structure) so that the Clip Connectors are facing away from the Slide, and so that when the front edge of the Base and Slide line up the locking mechanism is in the first large hole closest to the rear of the base.  See the pictures above, and the assembly video.
    4. Now slide the Clips onto the Base Clip Connectors while keeping the Base and Slide mated.  The interlocking keys are offset to ensure proper orientation.  Add a drop of glue to each connector, and to the rail pins.
  • Note that the Assembly Video uses Version 4.0.  The Trucker version (6.0) replaces the two shorter Rails with a single long one.  Assembly is similar.
