🏆 The Impossible Trophy

  • This is a miniature customisable trophy, designed to look like something that should be almost impossible to 3D print.
  • It stands 169.5 mm tall and has a 50 mm × 50 mm base.
  • The design features six upward spirals / ribbons, with each pair flowing upward and finishing in a star. The result is a dramatic, eye-catching shape that looks delicate, complex, and almost impossible, making it perfect for celebrating a special event, achievement, or milestone.

✨ Customisation

You can customise:

  • Event info
  • Year badge
  • Recipient name
  • Colours

This makes it ideal for awards, competitions, personal gifts, office events, school events, or any special occasion.

🧠 How It Prints

The print is made possible thanks to its pre-made integrated supports.

After printing, these supports can be:

  • Carefully removed by cutting them with a razor blade
  • Or simply left in place if you prefer the look or want extra stability

🖨️ Printing Notes

I printed mine using:

  • Bambu Lab Silk+ Gold
  • Black PLA

If using Silk+, make sure the filament is well calibrated and dry.

If you experience stringing, spaghetti failures, or poor results with Silk+, double-check your filament and slicer settings. You may want to try increasing nozzle temperature by 5°C, but this depends on your filament, printer, and tuning experience.

For a more straightforward process, you can also print the full trophy in regular PLA, which should print just well.

📦 Printing Profiles

There are 3 required printing profiles, each specially tuned and configured.

1️⃣ Trophy

⚠️ Important: After sending the job to the printer, it is strongly recommended to reduce the print speed to 50% or Silent Mode, especially while printing the spirals.

This greatly improves the chance of a clean, reliable, accident-free print.

2️⃣ Text Elements

Recommended with a 0.2 mm nozzle for the best detail. Is small text that can be fitted :)

A 0.4 mm nozzle can also be used and should be sufficient for most users.

3️⃣ Stars

Recommended with a 0.2 mm nozzle for the best detail. This will ensure better placement on the ribbons.

A 0.4 mm nozzle can also be used and should be sufficient for most users.

🛠️ Assembly Instructions

  1. Print the trophy
    • Please refer carefully to the printing notes above
  2. Print the stars
  3. Customise and print your text elements
  4. Glue the stars and text elements into place

⭐ Stars Placement

The stars include specific cutouts so they align exactly with their matching ribbons.

Before gluing, place each star in position first to confirm where it belongs. Each one should naturally match its location.

Once confirmed, add a small drop of super glue and fix it in place.

Placement guide:

  • Top star attaches to ribbons 1 and 2 from top to bottom
  • Middle star attaches to ribbon 3 and slightly rests on ribbon 2
  • Bottom star attaches to ribbon 5

🏷️ Text Placement

Each text element has its own dedicated recess.

Recommended layout:

  • Event info on the front
  • Year badge on the front
  • Recipient name on the back

Use a small amount of glue to secure each text element.

Enjoy printing your Impossible Trophy 🏆✨
