Description
Toaster Tongs 🍞 | Simple, Safe, and Support-Free
Project Description:
Tired of burning your fingers trying to retrieve slices of bread from the toaster? I designed these kitchen tongs specifically to safely extract toast. Thanks to its simple design and grooved tips, it offers a firm grip on the bread without risking electric shock or damaging the internal heating elements (which could happen by inserting classic metal utensils!).
It's a fast-to-make "Print in Place" model, ready for immediate use.
⚙️ Recommended Print Settings:
- Material: ⚠️ PETG highly recommended. The residual heat from the toaster would quickly deform normal PLA. PETG ensures excellent thermal resistance and the right flexibility to maintain the 'spring' effect of the tongs over time.
- Orientation: Place the model flat on the print bed to ensure maximum mechanical strength along the layers.
- Supports: None. The model is designed to be printed completely without supports.
- Infill: 15% - 20% (sufficient to provide structure).
- Walls (Wall loops/Perimeters): 3 or 4 to give greater rigidity to the tong arms.
💡 Safety notes: Remember that FDM 3D prints have natural micro-cracks between layers. It is recommended to hand wash the tongs and ensure that the filament used is as clean as possible for occasional contact with dry foods.
