Description

The Shrimp HexaCave is a hexagonal multi‑chamber shelter designed for shrimp and small aquatic species. Inspired by natural honeycomb structures, it provides a variety of hiding spaces that promote natural behavior, reduce stress, and support healthy shrimp colonies.

The upper cavities include small perforation holes that enhance water circulation and allow light to pass through, preventing stagnant zones and encouraging biofilm growth.

The structure features three types of chambers to offer diverse micro‑habitats:

  • Closed‑bottom cavities for dark, secure hiding spots
  • Partial‑bottom cavities that create mixed light and flow conditions
  • Open‑bottom cavities allowing full water exchange and interaction with the substrate

The model is designed for easy 3D printing and integrates naturally into aquascapes while providing functional shelter for shrimp.
