Magic Key Ring Through Box

Amaze your friends and family with this simple magic trick!

In the sliding lid, I've left 3 spots for magnets so orientation of the lid is nothing to worry about. I used 10x3mm magnets and left space in the lid for them. There SHOULD be a pause in the file but if not, set one at layer 23. It'll be a bit of a tight fit but a 10x3mm magnet WILL fit.

For this, you will need 2 key rings. One will be put on the back side of the lid so that the magnet in the middle is holding on to it and it is sticking out to where the “pen” can go through it. Of course, your spectator does not see this. You show that you have the empty box, lid not yet attached. Show the “pen” and the ring. Allow the ring and pen to be inspected if you'd like. Slide the lid onto the box with the secret ring attached to the middle magnet. Insert the pen through the box, penetrating both holes (lol). Take the ring your spectator has seen and pretend to put it in the box but secretly attach it to the magnet either on the top or bottom of the lid. Then quickly remove the lid to show that the ring has magically melted through the pen. If you're good with slight of hand, you can fairly easily get the other ring off the back of the lid and hide it so that the spectator can then inspect everything and you are left completely clean.
