Need to connect one thing to another but the threads don’t match? That’s exactly why this generator exists.

This tool lets you build custom threaded adapters fast with a clean set of controls, making it easy to create useful fittings for shop use, hobby projects, enclosures, plumbing-style mockups, test rigs, and all kinds of random problem-solving prints.

Instead of modeling every adapter from scratch, you can now generate them in seconds and tweak exactly what you need.

What It Does

This generator creates a straight adapter body with independently controlled ends, allowing you to mix and match different connection styles.

You can make:

  • male to female adapters
  • male to male adapters
  • female to female adapters
  • plain bore to thread adapters
  • capped ends
  • simple custom couplers and reducers

This makes it a great starting point for all kinds of practical prints where two parts need to meet in the middle without wasting time rebuilding the same basic geometry over and over.

Main Features

Independent End Controls
Each side of the adapter is controlled separately, so End A and End B can be set however you want.

Each end can be set to:

  • Male Thread
  • Female Thread
  • Plain Bore
  • Closed Cap

That means both sides do not need to match, which gives this generator a lot of flexibility right away.

Real Threaded Ends
This version uses real threaded geometry instead of fake spiral decoration, so the threaded sections are actually usable as a starting point for printed adapters.

The male side is now generated so the thread begins at the outer tip, which prevents the old problem of leaving a blocking lip under the threaded end.

That means the default settings now produce a clean threaded tip instead of sabotaging the part before you even print it.

Custom Major Diameter and Pitch
Both ends let you control:

  • Major Diameter
  • Pitch
  • Thread Length
  • Total End Length
  • Clearance

This gives you the ability to quickly experiment with fit and proportions without rebuilding anything manually.

Body Style Options
The center body can be generated in different shapes depending on how you want the part to look or be gripped.

Current options:

  • Round
  • Hex

The hex body is especially useful when you want the adapter to look more like a real fitting or want better grip for tightening by hand or with a tool.

Automatic Body Sizing Protection
The body diameter will automatically protect against impossible geometry by staying large enough to support:

  • the selected bore size
  • the minimum wall setting
  • the outer size required by threaded or female ends

That means the generator tries to avoid paper-thin garbage by default.

Center Bore Control
You can set the center bore diameter independently, which is useful for:

  • fluid pass-through
  • wire pass-through
  • custom openings
  • hollow couplers
  • reducing weight or material use

If an end is set to Closed Cap, the bore will stop before that side, leaving material behind as a closed floor.

Closed Cap Option
Either end can be set as a closed cap, making it possible to generate:

  • plugs
  • sealed ends
  • custom caps
  • test pieces
  • simple blocking fittings

This adds a lot of utility without adding a bunch of clutter to the controls.

Cutaway Preview
There is also a cutaway preview mode so you can inspect the inside of the part more easily while adjusting settings.

That makes it easier to check:

  • bore size
  • wall thickness
  • internal threaded sections
  • cap behavior

without needing to guess what is happening inside the model.

How The Controls Work

Body Controls

  • Body Style changes the center section shape
  • Body Length controls the length of the middle body section
  • Body Diameter Raw sets your preferred body size before automatic protection logic steps in
  • Minimum Wall helps maintain printable wall thickness
  • Center Bore Diameter controls the internal pass-through hole
  • Closed Cap Floor controls how much material is left behind when using a capped end

End Controls
Each end has its own set of controls.

  • Type chooses Male Thread, Female Thread, Plain Bore, or Closed Cap
  • Major Diameter controls the main outer thread diameter
  • Pitch controls the spacing of the thread
  • Thread Length controls how much of that end is threaded
  • Total Length controls the full length of that end section
  • Clearance helps tune fit between mating printed parts

For male threaded ends, any unthreaded portion stays near the body side so the outer tip remains usable.

That prevents the part from creating a smooth collar at the end where the thread should be.

Important Notes
This version is focused on being a flexible custom adapter generator and a strong foundation for future upgrades.

It is great for custom printable thread work, but it is not meant to be treated as a certified engineering standard for pressure-rated or safety-critical applications.

Always test fit your own printed parts, especially since printers, materials, and tolerances vary.

This is just the start.

More thread options can absolutely be added, and I plan to expand the generator over time based on what people actually want to use.

That means future updates can include more thread styles, more body styles, and more fitting options as requested.

Why I Made This
Sometimes the most useful models are not the flashy ones. They’re the ones that solve dumb, annoying real-world problems fast.

This generator was made to save time, make custom adapters easier, and turn a bunch of repetitive modeling work into a fast, adjustable tool people can actually use.
