Description

Weaving frame loom generator.

 

With the weaving frame loom generator, you can create a weaving frame according to your own dimensions and needs. There are a bunch of projects that could be made, for example, bookmarks, bracelets, miniature rugs and even tapestries! 

 

On my images, you can see that I've started on a bookmark which I learnt to do by following this tutorial on youtube:

I have also prepared 3 different print profiles for starting out:

  • Weaving frames.
    • Contains 3 “bigger” weaving frames.
  • Bookmark weaving frames.
    • Contains 2 longer weaving frames for weaving bookmarks and bracelets.
  • Miniature weaving frames
    • Contains 3 “smaller” weaving frames for miniature weaving.

I have uploaded text files which contains the parameters used to create the different models on the print profiles - in case someone would like to adjust them further.

 

Parameters:

  • Warping notch parameters:
    • Amount of warp notches: The amount of “notches” to generate.  The notches is where the warping (vertical thread) will be fastened.
    • Warp notch width: The width of the notches (mm).
    • Warp notch length: The length of the notches (mm).
    • Warp notch spacing: The spacing between the notches (mm).
       
  • Weaving frame parameters:
    • Weaving frame warp length:  Sets the desired length of the warping threads, thereby defining the length of the weaving frame (mm).
      • Note that the total length of the weaving frame will be the warp length + (warp notch length X 2).
    • Weaving frame thickness: The thickness of the entire weaving frame (mm).
       
  • Border parameters:
    • Border top and bottom: Adds a border to the top and bottom of the weaving frame (mm). 
    • Border left and right: Adds a border to the left and right of the weaving frame (mm).
