Description

Regenerate your desiccant with ease. The AMS DryTray is a custom insert designed to fit directly into your Bambu AMS in place of a filament spool. It works like a small baking tray: fill it with silica gel beads let the AMS’s warm, circulating air dry them efficiently, ready for reuse in filament boxes or AMS storage compartments. Designed for optimal performance with silica gel beads of 3–5 mm diameter.

  • Purpose-built: Specifically for drying silica gel beads, not for filament.
  • No supports required: Prints cleanly without supports.
  • Material recommendation: PETG is strongly recommended due to the AMS drying temperature.
  • Dual use: Two trays can be inserted at once for faster, larger-batch drying.
  • Secure grip: A built-in handle design ensures a firm hold, preventing accidental spills of silica gel beads.
  • Large surface area: The wide, open design maximizes exposure and enables faster, more efficient drying of silica gel beads.

A simple, reusable way to keep your desiccant fresh and your filament storage dry.

UPDATE:

Added print profile for small beads (1mm hole diameter).

For storing and protecting your filament spools themselves, I recommend using this dedicated container:

Tray printed real nice in PETG. However the mesh is too big for loose desiccant ( included a photo of desiccant I use for reference). I may use this with some of the desiccant packets I have instead. I think this design would be top notch if the mesh opening was smaller.. Thanks!

May just be me...I can't get the version with the smaller holes to slice. It gets stuck at 35% and won't finish. The original loaded and sliced fine.

Drying paper deccicant bags is a little risky. There is a threat of those bags catching on fire

There isn't any danger of this at filament drying temperatures. The flashpoint of paper is 233°C

The prints came out perfectly. I used them to dry some desiccant sachets, which took about 10 hours at 65°C

Printed these and had zero issues. They print perfrctly and no warping as long as you let the bed cool enough (I didn’t the 2nd time). A1 with Bambu Labs Black and Orange PTEG
