Description
The Customizable Travel Coffee Tamper is perfect for coffee enthusiasts, tinkerers, or anyone who struggles to perfectly level their coffee while tamping.
- Download appended files, or modify the parametric model => You will be particularly interested in #basket_diameter variable
- Print the Tamper
- test the fit with your coffee basket
- Print the Handle
- test the fit with tamper
- disassemble
- Print the Baffle
- test all parts together. The baffle should move loosely but without tilting
- If the baffle doesn't fit or is too loose, adjust its outer and/or inner offset features in the parametric model. You won't need to reprint other parts, just the baffle
- disassemble again
- Print the Springs
- you only need to download one spring after all baffle modifications; then, create three clones in your slicer
- assemble parts in the following order: Tamper → Baffle → Springs → Handle
- the springs should fit freely without much force. If they don't, adjust #spring_wall_offset variable in the parametric model
- if the springs feel too soft or too firm, adjust #spring_rigidity variable in parametric model. Bare in mind though, this might decrease the maximum tamping depth
Notes:
- I highly recommend to use random seam rather then aligned for all parts
- The springs will loose their ability to stretch back to their 100% height fairly quickly, especially in small tampers, so don't try to reprint those regularly it won't be perfect but it will still work
