2025.11.28 Update

  • Blobifier_X code updated to V2.2
  • MANUAL_STEPPER_FIX adapted for the latest Klipper version
  • Added nozzle deep cleaning (wiping) function: BLOBIFIER_X_DEEP_CLEAN, used for deep cleaning the nozzle before printing starts, eliminating the hassle of manual cleaning and ensuring precise Z homing and leveling. Please call as needed
  • Adjusted BLOBIFIER_X_PARK logic, fixed a bug where BLOBIFIER_X_PARK did not park as expected when the print head was in a specific position
  • !!!!!!!!!!Note: The use of the nozzle deep cleaning function changes the Z homing method. Please use it after fully understanding how it works. For details, please refer to the bottom section of this document.!!!!!!!!!!

2025.5.26 Update

  • Due to versions after Klipper 0.13 changing the names of some class objects, which caused some users to encounter an 'initial error' after updating Klipper, configuration files compatible with the original Klipper manual stepper version have been added: blobifier_x_original.cfg and blobifier_x_hw_original.cfg
  • Added filament_oozing_adjust parameter to compensate for extruded filament potentially not adhering well to the tray at the start of purging due to filament oozing. This parameter will not affect the total purge volume

!!!Both structure and program updated to V2 version, major update!!!

Optimizations:

  • Replaced 28BYJ-48 with a 36 stepper motor for faster operation. You can use a regular 36 or a 10-yuan 36 from Xianyu; the 10-yuan 36 from Xianyu has longer gear engagement, but a regular 36 is also fine since not much torque is needed
  • Improved transmission structure, using BMG motor gear (42 motor) or BMG extruder gear, two options, fully utilizing existing resources
  • Improved program, using a pulsating purging method, and added the relative movement parameter to the native manual_stepper for more convenient control

Using a personally modified manual_stepper, named manual_stepper_fix (to distinguish it from the original command), the modified command adds a relative movement parameter, avoiding frequent homing and resetting during purging, keeping the tray zero position fixed, effectively preventing confusion caused by misoperation, and facilitating debugging.
To use manual_stepper_fix, simply import manual_stepper_fix.py into the /home/your username/klipper/klippy/extras directory and restart the host.
The modified command MANUAL_STEPPER_FIX call, its format and parameter usage are the same as the original MANUAL_STEPPER command, and it also adds the RELATIVE=1 or 0 parameter. When calling the command, adding RELATIVE=1 parameter means relative movement, and when RELATIVE=0, it is absolute movement, which has the same effect as the original MANUAL_STEPPER command.
MANUAL_STEPPER_FIX requires Klipper to be updated to V0.13. Due to a bug in V0.12, this command will report an error.
Klipper V0.13 fixes a previous defect where, when using the STOP_ON_ENDSTOP=1 parameter, it was still necessary to wait for the full time required for command execution after the limit switch was triggered. This can effectively save waiting time, and updating is highly recommended! In fact, using the MANUAL_STEPPER_FIX command instead of MANUAL_STEPPER can also effectively reduce the excessively long waiting time caused by the aforementioned defect, because this command only needs to home once.
The V1 version code of Blobifier_X can still be used under Klipper V0.13, but based on the above description, it is still recommended to use manual_stepper_fix + Blobifier_X V2.
