Description

I recently bought a Pinecil and wanted to keep everything neatly organized as well as portable. While there's plenty of designs out there, none fully fit my needs and thus I decided to mix, match and adapt until I had the case that fit all my needs.

(My) Ultimate Pinecil Case

firmly holds:

  • Pinecil (v2)
  • charging cable (1.5m original Pinecil silicone cable)
  • 4 additional soldering tips (I have the short versions)
  • 1 threaded inserter tip adapter
  • 7x threaded inserter tips (M2, M2.5, M3, M4, M5, M6, M8)
  • 2x Spools
  • 1x stand to hold the Pinecil when it's still hot
  • little chamber that can hold e.g. tip cleaner

Apart from the 3D printed parts you'll need:

  • 6x M3x20 screws (2 for the hinges + 4 for the clamps)
  • (optional) 1x M3x16 for the solder iron holder
  • (optional) 608 bearing for the solder iron holder
  • (optional) glue to ensure the inserts stay in place

I used the following Bambulab filaments:

  • PETG HF - Black (33102)
  • PETG HF - Lime Green (33501)
  • TPU for AMS - Black (53101)

Remarks:

The main insert fits really well and I didn't need any glue there, but the top one (for the tips) has a bit too much room. A few drops of glue will ensure it doesn't move around anymore.

The spools don't fit perfect but when you thread the end of the wire through the hole, it holds well enough to not bother me personally.
