- QTEATAK KCD4 2Pcs DC 12V-24V 30A DPST 4-Pin 2 Position ON/Off Boat Rocker Switch with Red LED Light x 1:
Description
This is my first attempt at CAD modeling for my 3d printer. I bought a Bentobox filter that runs to an external power source. Since I don't always use filaments that require this filter I wanted to have a way to turn it off which didn't require me to reach back to my power strip to unplug it every time. I wanted a switch that I can attach to the printer.
I built this simple box to magnetically attach to the back of the printer and allow me to use the fan as needed. I am also thinking of adding some LED lights and may end up using a similar switch for those.
I made the tolerances tight so that no glue was required. Each part of the box has a lip that holds onto the other part and allows you to open it, if needed, without having to worry about glue. The magnets are also held in without glue. The switch itself fits easily but snugly into the opening.
The specific switch I used is in the BOM. It looks like most similar switches have the same dimensions as I ordered 3 different types and and brands and they all look the same.
I included the step files in case anyone wanted to make any changes to adapt it to their specific uses.
Let me know what you think ☺
