USA! USA! USA! Check out my new 250 model. It does not require an AMS, just a little assembly. And be on the lookout. Another gun pen coming soon (or maybe a gun pencil. Who knows?)

Why I'm Glad This Design Didn't Work
Why I'm Glad This Design Didn't Work
I recently tried something new by entering Maker’s Supply’s limited kit challenge. My idea sounded simple: place one LED behind each number on the clock so that, as each hour arrives, the corresponding number lights up. My first idea was like the clock in the cover image. I’ve designed more complex projects before, so this one seemed fairly straightforward. I’ve also done wiring projects like this in the past, but there was always a guide telling me exactly what to do: this plugs in here, that connects there, and these are the wires you need. This project was different. While some of that existed, I had to solve a lot of the wiring challenges on my own. One of the biggest problems was mounting the transmitter coil on a secondary hour hand behind the clock face. That meant I needed a way to keep the wires from tangling as it rotated. My solution was to use a slip ring, but the connectors on the slip ring didn’t match the LED kit connectors. To make everything work together, I had to daisy-chain a long series of wires and adapters. And did it work? NO! That turned out to be the best part. It didn’t work the way I expected, which meant it needed a complete redesign. The transmitter coil didn’t behave the way I thought it would, the clock ended up being much larger than I wanted, and the slip ring wires were so thin that they heated up whenever I powered the LEDs.That setback gave me the opportunity to step back, rethink the goal, and start fresh. Several people had suggested a different approach to the clock, but I kept pushing those ideas aside because I was focused on my original concept. Looking back, I almost missed out on a much better design. What might have looked like failure was actually an opportunity to build something even better. After a full day of redesigning, followed by two more days of printing, testing, iterating, and printing again, I finally arrived at the version I have now. It's a clock I'm genuinely proud of. This time, it was a success. It does exactly what I imagined over a month ago, even though the mechanism behind it is completely different. The overall design looks much better, has far fewer moving parts, is easier for others to print, and—if I can be a little biased as the designer—I think it looks really cool. So, fellow creators, just because something doesn't work the way you intended doesn't mean you failed. If you give up on the design there, then maybe, yeah, you could call that a failure. But if you step back, learn from the problem, and keep going, you haven't failed. You've succeeded! If you'd like to print the model yourself, check it out using the link below.https://makerworld.com/en/models/3000883  -CDBuilder

Hey Maker World. I have posted another model: Light Up Mantel Clock. This model came about as the result of Maker's Supply's kit challenge. The kit for this one was the wireless LED kit. It is definitely a great kit so go check it out. I really enjoyed this process and would like to give a huge thanks to Maker's Supply for helping support this design. #Kitchallenge #Wirelessinductivediy

I set up my commercial license stuff yesterday and I had a question about exclusive models. if I read the terms correctly I can let people sell prints of exclusive models but I cannot let people sell the files themselves. Can someone please confirm this?(Edited)

Hello community. I recently uploaded the Trick Rubber Band Gun. This is a fun prank to play on your siblings or friends any day of the year. It was inspired by prank squirt guns, but since it is a rubber band gun it can be used inside too.
Is this a fun prank

when it says IA models are not allowed in contest, does that include all maker lab models. I am using the lithophane maker for a projects at school, and I want to also upload it into the Easter contest. I'm taking all of the liqthophanes and compiling them into a piece of art.

Check out my model for April fools day. It is a prank rubber band gun. Shoot the rubber bands at your friends, but when you let them use it, you flip the switch so they shoot the rubber band at themselves. #Contests #2026Aprilfoolsday

Thanks everyone. I have hit 270 followers. I will hopefully be starting by commercial membership soon so be on the look out for that. I got my first Bambu Lab printer just over a year ago and have already made it this far. I would tag all of the followers if I could. Instead I will just tag a few of the people that have been the most helpful to me during this past year or so. thanks to @user_2984988613 for being my first follower thanks to @CurlyFries1@Firecracker123, and @BoneForgePrints for answering different questions I have had on Maker World and thanks to @QuadA for being so quick to reach out and congratulate me on reaching 200 followers.

Has anyone ever tried doing a two colored "first layer" by using a 0.2mm nozzle and doing a 0.06mm layer in black of something (just one layer) and then in a new print but leaving that 0.06mm layer on the build plate, do a print using a 0.4mm nozzle and something like 0.2mm layers? I kinda did this on accident the other day because a layer from support material was stuck on the build plate and I forgot about it and printed over it in another color. the second print did a great job of removing the stuck filament from the build plate but the print does not look good with a black rectangle in the corner of a blue print.

Thank you. It has now been almost one year since I got my first Bambu Lab 3D printer and joined the maker world community. I have posted many of my creations, some good others not so good, and you all have supported me by downloading and printing them. After one year, I have been able to fully support my 3d printing hobby through this platform. In this next year, I hope to be able to upgrade my 3D printer along with my designs, and pass the 200 follower mark. I would also like to extend a special thanks to all of my 130 followers, especially @BoneForgePrints for helping answer many of my questions.

This might be my last. I just posted the quite possibly the last few pieces to my Christmas tea light decor set. Remember, the first person to find the hidden thing in the model wins a small prize (if anyone ever prints my model). I might post one last panel on Christmas Day. Also nobody but me has printed it yet and I am not sure why. If someone is willing, please tell me what I could do better if I ever do something like this again.(Edited)

Can you edit a model multiple times after joining it in a contests? I have a model I want to put into the printmas contest, but I am adding more to it every day until Christmas. Is this allowed?

More panels have been added. Go check them out, and keep an eye out for something hidden in the files. Remember, there is a prize for the first person who guesses correctly and makes a post about it, tagging me so I see it. #Christmas2025(Edited)
