Spring Gun V2 - Shoots fake bullets with magazine

* UPDATE (08/05/2024) *

Spring gun v2 can fire multiple bullets one at a time thanks to the new magazine system. Reading the comments and advice from makerworld users, I designed version 2 of the spring gun.

The new version includes the magazine that loads bullets when the spring is reloaded. The magazines are available in two sizes: 3-round and 6-round.

In addition, one of the major problems encountered was the spring breaking or being underpowered, so I made the gun with an interchangeable spring so that it can be replaced or changed to better performing shapes that I can load in the future.

The spring gun has two configurations one with the magazine and one without.

Finally, I improved the target which can now rotate when hit.

Resolved robustness issues and some parts that were too thin causing printing problems. All files and print profiles updated.

the bullets get stuck in the barrel but indeed a very good design

What material would you recommend to create the spring? I tried with TPU and it did no work that well

Cool design, but unfortunately it doesn’t work very well.

Strength Issue:On my third shot, the front part that holds the magazine in broke off.

Support Issue:Way too many tiny supports. Ripped some of my skin off trying to get them off.

Other Issues:The springs have too much wiggle room, which causes the the one that launces the bullets to not go straight down the center, but instead it hits the edges causing it to break. I believe if the springs couldn’t move up and down as much it would fix this. Magazine spring is also to strong.

overall the design is amazing but this print profile couldn’t generate the top layer (instead of “top layer” it said “solid infill”) and it just looks bad also there are those weird regions. it sliced ok after reducing the layer height on the top to 0.8 using the adaptive layer height feature might print that later. I think this is because the top and bottom are just too thin

My only complaint is the bullets don't shoot far. I had to print this 3 times. 1st with grid infill at 15% and it snapped at where the pin first enters the hole. The 2nd time. gyroid at 25%, and it blew the entire end off. The 3rd time was perfect, but the loading mechanism failed a couple times. The way you load the bullets is clumsy. I'd recommend a handle for the shooting spring to pull it back easier. Think like a bolt action shotgun. Maybe a plate on the other side for stability. 3*>5*
