Description

After almost 2 weeks working on this project and lots of iterations and prototypes, we're really happy to intruduce our new turbofan air freshener.

If you'd like to support our work, you can donate here: [Ko-Fi] or give us a boost 🚀. Your contribution, no matter how small, helps us to continue bringing more 3D models to life. Thank you!

This miniature jet engine easily attaches to your car's AC vent. As it spins, it releases the fragrance of the elements you place inside its inner container.

Among the things you can place inside here are some options:

  • Freshly roasted coffee beans
  • A cotton with a few drops of essential oils
  • Aromatic plant leafs (lavender, rosemany, etc) - make sure they don't pass through the lid once it's closed

Utilization

  1. Place the aromatic elements inside the recipient and screw the lid on top.
  2. Screw the top cover
  3. Place the fan and insert the shaft - press until it clicks or hits the bottom. Make sure it is well aligned.
  4. Place the tip of the fan and screw the car vent clip on the rear part. In case the tip doesn't stay atttached try scaling it down slightly.

Important:

  • Printing with ABS, ASA or PETG is highly recommended to withstand summer temperatures
  • If the fan is too lose, which may happen depending on your tolerances, print the ‘tighter tolerance shaft’ file that is available for download.
  • If the vent clip doesn't work for your car, I have included a second design as well.

If that still doesn't work, please feel free to reach out to us in the comments.

  • The fan may not spin at lower air conditioning settings, but a bit of WD40 on the shaft may help.
  • As a general caution: Do not place any ingredient that can be bad for breathing and do not manipulate while driving.
  • Remember that this file is for personal use only - Contact us in case of doubts

Print Settings:

  • 0.16mm layer height for the fan, the rest can be done at 0.2
  • No supports
  • There are versions of the fan without the built-in brim, for machines that have good adhesion. I have added the version with brims as default because my P1S was struggling to get it to stick to the bed. On the A1 it worked perfectly.

Happy printing!

Interesting design. It actually does work when it comes to allowing the smell good stuff to work. However, the fan part of it I think it's more of a cosmetic thing. It doesn't see. To really help at all. But at the same time it doesn't seem to hurt the air flow

Glad that the smell part it's working well. Indeed the fan it's more of a gimmick, it doesn't really make the flow better as you said. Thanks a million for the boost!

Strength Issue:dosnt hold very well after about just a few speedbumps it falls off i think it would be better if it was mpre loke a crocadile clip so theres more tension to hold alao its snaped after trying to push it bsck onto fan

Hi there pixelprints. Thanks for the feedback it will surely help us improving the design! So far the clip was holding strongly on the 2 cars where I tested it, but it might require a different geometry for other car vents. I also see that the clip has bent a bit in the picture, the layers seem to have some adhesion issues and I have also noticed that in some tests I made before. After trying several designs, including the crocodile style clips that you mentioned (and that unfortunately turned out to be too slippery) I think I came up with a solution. I updated all print profiles with a new clip that is thicker, to improve layer adhesion and I included a version that can be printed flat in the 'alternative parts' print profile in case that still doesn't work. You can give them a try if you wish, I hope it solves the issue! Also i would recommend printing with PETG and drying well the filament.
