I definitely love the idea of this thing! There is one problem though. The center of gravity is too high to allow the holder to stand on its own. Maybe a cavity can be added to the base so that I can insert a counterweight : )

How to add the cavity yourself in Bambu Studio/Orca Slicer (it’s pretty easy, I promise!) : Measure your counterweight and then use a negative part modifier in the shape of your counterweight, then make that negative part the same size as your counterweight +0.5mm in all directions. Then use the Move tool to precisely move the negative part along the X, Y and Z axis until it is inside the bottom of the model, with at least two layers below and above it. When you think you have the placement right, slice the model and scroll through the layers until you see the area where the negative part is, verify it’s where you want and/or adjust placement. Once it’s exactly where you want, slice again, then scroll through the layers until the layer before the top of the negative part, right before it’s about to be covered by the next layer (the negative part’s “roof” basically), right-click on the layer scroller/slider at that layer, click “add pause,” and then re-slice and print as usual. Make a note of which layer it’s gonna pause at and set a timer for when the pause will happen, or just watch the print or watch Bambu Studio for the notification of “Printing has been paused by user,” then, in a timely fashion, carefully place the counterweight into the negative part area and then resume the print. Boom! You can do this for hidden magnet placement as well, and if the counterweight or magnet you’re using isn’t self adhesive, then it can be helpful to place a very small dot of superglue to the bottom of the weight/magnet, just to be safe. Just be sure not to get any glue anywhere else on the print. Once you know how to do this it is a very simple trick/mod you can do to almost any print as long as there’s enough internal space. Especially fun for magnets as it adds an element of professionalism since you can’t see the magnets. Happy printing! Hope this helps.
