Description

Description

This is a Matrix Of Leadership that I have modelled from the 1986 film Transformers: The Movie that I watched in the cinema as a kid. It is designed to use the Bambu Lab LED Lamp 001 kit as it is an affordable, quality USB powered lamp with a nice feeling switch.

Printing

There are two different profiles depending on if you would like to use normal or PVA supports.

Assembly

The first part of the guide is important to follow or the sphere may never attach in its correct orientation, as it is possible to install it 90 degrees the wrong way.

Screw the translucent blue matrix onto the lower sphere all the way.

Find the part of the sphere pictured, and rotate the blue matrix part back so the tab is aligned above the middle of the part pictured.

Try and keep this alignment fairly exact, as in the next step we will be pushing the upper sphere onto it so the tabs snap in place.

Now align the top and bottom parts of the sphere. The part of the sphere with the three vertical black lines is easiest to use.

Now firmly push the lower sphere onto the lower piece keeping it aligned. It should snap into place. Now undo it.

Now unscrew the top part of the sphere.

Pull the USB cable of the lamp through the hole in the bottom of the lower sphere and insert the lamp into the base keeping the cable in the guide.

Then place the outer metal part as pictured so the arrows are aligned. It is only possible to insert it one way around.

Screw on the upper sphere part.
Place on stand, congratulations you now have your Matrix of Leadership!

This is an awesome model! I used the following filaments: Overture PLA space gray, Flashforge Silk PLA gold, Canadian Filament Translucent PETG blue, and Bambu Lab Metallic PLA dark iron/gray. I think it turned out pretty well. I had a small issue on the very back of the unit but you can't see it. I also printed a secondary blue PETG disk to put over the light because it was too bright w/o it IMHO. I may play with that some more. No gold on the handles as unnecessary filament swap for sides

This is an amazing print, thanks so much for posting it. I am happy you also had better colours than I did at the time I took the photos. Enjoy the model!

用灰色代替金属银还是不太行,不过已经很满意了,可能还会给中心加一层减光挡板

What an awesome model! I printed this for my brother's birthday gift (1986 birth year). I ended up having to rotate the male end of the sphere on its side and utilize supports, but am thrilled with the end result. Yet another absolutely fabulous model by Fyrby
