Description

My kids like looming, however the stock heddle bar worked really clumsy. So I designed one which keeps the warp threads spaced during rotation.

The difference between the two:

The dimensions are somewhat parametric, so if your loom dimensions are a bit different than what I have, feel free to comment and I'll see if I can make the changes.

actually it is called a (rotating) heddle bar. a raddle is for keeping warp threads tidy and in order while warping up a larger loom

Can this be remixed into a modular fit? Like in parts and then to put together push-fit, similar to LEGO bricks, where each component seamlessly clicks into place. This would allow for endless customization options, where we could simply adapt to changing needs.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion! And I suppose it could, but I'd be worried of having that hold up to be sturdy enough when the lengths increase. I'm not skilled enough to have a go at that, but I welcome any remix that gives the idea a go :-)

I have a few (minor) improvements in mind, if you're interested in printing this model, feel free to ping me. For now this works for us, but when I can help someone get an even better version I'm happy to help. The minor improvements: - More tilted slots, so that the stock threads spread a bit wider - higher bevel at the bottom, so that it stays in place a bit better within the loom frame - Slightly more narrow slots (currently slightly over 2mm wide when printed) - A bit more core strength, so that it's a bit stiffer. It's not a problem currently, but I'd like to make an attempt to make it stiffer, without using more material.
