**Updated 1-17-2025 to add a cutout for the "Timer" button.
I have an unusual problem (I think.): my cat likes to press the microwave buttons. He loves displaying his button-pressing prowess right in the middle of a good part of a movie or TV show.
So I found a piece of plastic, hot glued some computer hard drive magnets, slapped it over the microwave control buttons, and called it good enough. But when you need to use the microwave, the cover must be removed and replaced when done. Replacing the cover is where the trouble lies. Putting the cover back on is easy enough and has served us well for over 9 years, BUT we occasionally forget, and Mr. Kitty quickly shows off his skill set 😒.
So, now that I just bought a 3D printer, I can teach myself how to design a nice, sleek, and sexy replacement for my old crappy, ugly, eye-sore cover. In the design, I included a window to view the clock and cook time remaining. As well as a hole to program, start, and stop the microwave. If you, too, have a kitty that loves pressing buttons AND you have the same microwave as I do (yeah, right!), you too can print this AWESOME button cover 😎.
If your cat also likes to press the microwave buttons, let me know in the comments.
Microwave Specifics:
LG Microwave Model No. LMV2031BD /00
Product Code MV2094ASDL.CBDELGA
The magnets I used can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D47531PR?
I have sliced this print with a dovetail cut to work with the X1C, and a pause has been set for layer 27 to insert the magnets. The remaining layers will cover the magnets; no glue is needed.
