Description

THE LORD OF THE RINGS Medal Display Rack – A Heroic Showcase for Your Achievements

Elevate your medal collection to legendary status with the THE LORD OF THE RINGS Medal Display Rack. Designed to hold all 5 medals from the from the Lord of the Rings Original Virtual Challenges, this stunning rack offers a striking, cohesive display that transforms your achievements into a true work of art. It is designed to hold the five medals of the original challenge.  The additional three could also fit if you double up the three middle slots.

Whether you’ve conquered Mordor or simply completed your latest race, this rack will proudly showcase your medals like a treasure chest of triumphs. After all, even Frodo needed a place to hang his ring (though, let's be real, he'd probably have lost it by now).

Features:

  • Purpose-Built for 5 Medals: Designed to perfectly hold and display all 8 medals from the THE LORD OF THE RINGS series—because one ring to rule them all doesn't always mean one medal. It might hold the three additional Return of the King medals, though the weight hasn't been tested.
  • Sturdy & Stylish: Made with high-quality materials to withstand the weight of your hard-earned medals, whether you’ve trekked across Middle-earth or just completed that 10K. I will update with pictures as I complete the additional tasks. If they prove to be too heavy, I'll update with new versions.  The back features a toothed nail hanger spot for easy hanging. The display halves are joined together using connectors and super glue. There is an additional sleeve to glue over the center medal support bar where the model was sliced for added strength
  • Elven Craftsmanship: Expertly crafted to add a touch of Middle-earth magic to your wall. No Orcs or Goblins were harmed in the making of this rack. I've included photos of how I wrapped the medal around the hanging clips the fed through the display. There are many ways you can do it. If you have trouble, send me a DM.  I've also included a lanyard clip to tidy up the medal.

Now, when your friends ask where your medals are, you can proudly say: "They're displayed with honor, like the crown jewels of Gondor."

Perfect for any adventurer, runner, or Tolkien enthusiast, this medal hanger will make your collection shine brighter than the Evenstar pendant!

Plate 1: The right half of the display and connectors.

Plate 2: The left half of the display *I miss painting “The” when I printed it, but the profile is fixed.

Plate 3: Five sets of hanging clips and lanyard clips and one bar support sleeve.

Plate 4: One set of hanging clips, lanyard clips, and support sleeve.

Version 2:

  • Added second hanger hooks to back to make it easier to get level with the different weighted medals
  • Added fillets to the hanger to increase strength
  • Added additional connector spots to increase connection strength
  • Removed outside spacers since the hanger and additional connectors provide enough points of contact

Version 3:

  • Moved the hooks into the body for strength and a more sleek look
  • Simplified the Medal Ribbon Clips to be less prominent
  • Made the back components prettier

Theres a bunch on non-manifold edges in the Assembly pieces, and the hanger and wall spacers on the back just fell off my print, but nothing a little superglue couldn't cure. Very cool idea. I think I want a similar hanger for the other three medals, simply because I don't want to hide the lanyards behind the others. Another note is that the medals are not all weighted equally so it's a bit more tricky to get things level with a single nail on the back. Two nail hangers (one per assembly) would probably work better.

very cool! I’ve only completed the shire challenge and didn’t think about the different weights of medals. How is it doing against the weight of all the medals?

Seems to be holding up just fine, it's on the furthest slot to the right it can be in order to be level. I could probably adjust the ribbon lengths to have it centered, but then they wouldn't be even.

Any chance you're working on one for the Star Wars set? Love the Hobbit and HP ones!

thanks! I was thinking about it but I think the 7 medal HP one was pushing it medal count wise. I’ll have another think about it and see if I can come up with a good approach
