None truly captivated me, and the true reason was:

With numerous calipers lying around, constantly searching for them proved frustrating, prompting me to design and print my own stand.

I'm sharing a design—a caliper stand—online.

Crafted from a sphere, it features radially formed, angled supports.

This is the second version; the first was longer and monochromatic silver.

This iteration boasts a two-tone (contrasting black and silver) design, enhanced handling, and improved aesthetics.

Admittedly, it's a real eye-catcher in any 3D printing or workshop setting.

 

Adapting the model for multiple calipers by increasing its width to accommodate two or three simultaneously is conceivable.

I'll revisit this once time allows.

Due to a lack of black PLA, I printed the model using black PETG-HF; it works, and the materials bond well. However, exercise caution with PLA support structures, as they detach easily—see below. Therefore, I recommend black PLA Matte.

The model rests laterally on the plate. Support structure remnants are deburred or trimmed with a file, leaving no visible traces. A 0.2mm layer height suffices; smaller settings significantly extend print time.

Absolutely print with a 10mm brim; otherwise, the model detaches, resulting in a tangled mess on the bed.

I even had to apply adhesive to the textured plate when using PLA. Leave the lid and door open as usual.

Maintain a Z-offset of 0.2mm for the brim; at 0.25mm, supports detach during printing, causing Z-axis warping. This precaution is thus essential. The PETG/PLA contact may also contribute to this.

The color change unfortunately extends print time considerably—>>> over 6 hours!

Monitor the ejection chute, as it occasionally clogs.
