Description

This is a headrest mounted fishing rod rack, it can hold up to 6 rods of up to probably 8-9 feet, although that depends on the size of your car. This rod holder makes transporting fishing rods easier and lowers the risk of broken tips. It prints very well at .12 mm layer height and works at .16 and .2 but may need some cleaning up. print with supports on only the 90 degree overhangs. It requires one medium size rubber band. It is able to fit almost all headrests that use 2 pins.

highly suggest using PETG, this low infill PLA profile will not hold up well. also adding 3D print oil allows the mechanism to slide much better.

not how that works when PLA warps in a hot car. ABS would be even more ideal

fits well with me. now to try how long will it last when temperature turns +40°C during summer here in Australia.

Works great after you add some oil, maybe WD40 would work. Would you allow us to upload a PETG profile? I have one for easy removal of supports for PETG!

These turned out very well! I printed two options for a friend to try out, PETG Trasparent and ABS-GF.

it printed awesome in PLA and thank you so much. I’m putting this in my car and I’m leaving it there.

Beginner at 3D printing, but I've been looking for something like this to protect my rods (and passengers!) for a while. Thanks very much! I did change the material to PETG and added a couple notches in the rod holder piece for a rubber band or small bungee to hold the rod tips in place on rougher roads.
