Description

Unusual printing has unusual risks - be careful!

This is an experimental non-planar Benchy G-code pack. How far a stock Bambu single-nozzle printer can go with curved, non-planar toolpaths?

Please treat this as experimental. I do not take responsibility for failed prints, printer issues, nozzle collisions, scratched parts, or any other problems caused by running the included G-code. Use it at your own risk and watch the print carefully, especially the first time.

I tested the G-code on my stock Bambu Lab P2S and was able to print successfully up to 19 degrees, which is the last file from Non-Planar Benchy Level 2. I have included customized G-code for Bambu single-nozzle printers, but it has only been tested by me on the P2S, so I cannot guarantee it will work correctly on every model. If you are unsure I recommend starting with level 1. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2900146-non-planar-benchy-lvl-1

For anyone brave enough to test it, I would really appreciate feedback in the comments. Please share which printer you used, which angle you tried, and whether it printed successfully. This will help others see how different Bambu printers handle non-planar printing. If something does not work, let me know and I will try to help.

The download does not include the Benchy model itself. It only includes custom G-code files with different angles of non-planarity.

Level 2 includes:

  • 13 degree non-planar Benchy
  • 15 degree non-planar Benchy
  • 17 degree non-planar Benchy
  • 19 degree non-planar Benchy

How To Print

Download the attached .zip file, extract the .gcode files, copy them to your printer’s SD card, and start the print.

If you have any doubts or questions, ask in the comments before printing.

All files are intended for PLA with a 0.4 mm nozzle.

For reference I recorded each print. You can find the video here (excuse me for the low quality)
