Description

I wanted a compact way to store my most frequently used highlighters on my IKEA SKÅDIS board while still keeping them easy to access. Instead of a fixed holder, I designed this rotating carousel that can be turned with a single finger to quickly reach any marker.

The holder is designed for:

  • 6 × Stabilo BOSS Original highlighters
  • 9 × Stabilo Swing Cool highlighters

The model consists of two printed parts:

  1. The rotating marker holder ("Main.stl")
  2. The SKÅDIS mounting bracket ("Hook.stl")

The two parts are connected using a standard 608 ball bearing (8 × 22 × 7 mm), allowing the holder to rotate smoothly while mounted on the pegboard.

The marker compartments themselves started as simple cuboid openings sized for the two Stabilo marker types. The surrounding shape was then generated and smoothed programmatically to create the flower-like design and compact layout. Six indexing notches around the perimeter provide tactile reference points while rotating the holder.
