The Ration - Rugged Snack Box | Stronghold
Print Profile(1)

Description
The Ration is a rugged, man‑ready snack box designed to keep your fuel organized, protected, and easy to grab whether you’re running a go bag, hauling kids, or living out of your truck between missions. Sized at roughly 180 x 110 x 40 mm, it’s perfect for meats, nuts, protein bars, and yes—even a Snickers or two—without feeling bulky or wasting space. Drop it in a backpack, satchel, diaper‑bag‑with‑molle, glove box, or center console and you’ve got a dedicated snack loadout that won’t get crushed at the bottom of your pack.
This model is a remix of Hugo’s “SnapLock Storage Boxes (parametric)” on MakerWorld with a custom SVG treatment and tuned proportions for everyday carry snacks. The lid and base are optimized for snap‑fit strength and repeat use, with 3 walls/perimeters and 15% grid infill at 0.2 mm layer height for a strong, practical print that still finishes quickly. I printed mine in Sunlu PLA Matte Grey and Bambu Basic PLA Bambu Green for a low‑key tactical look, but any good PLA or matte PLA will work well.
The Ration is also part of a growing family of boxes and trays, so you can design or swap in themed inserts over time. This base box is compatible with custom inserts sized to the internal footprint; you can design your own to match your exact snacks and layout, or keep an eye out for additional insert variants I’ll be publishing soon (EDC, backcountry, road trip, First Aid, dad‑mode, etc.).

No supports are required, and it should fit on any printer with at least a 256 mm cubed bed; it should also fit on the A1 and A1 Mini, but please double‑check your machine’s build volume to confirm.

Print tips: orient the box and lid flat on the bed, use a standard 0.2 mm profile with 3 perimeters and 15% grid infill, and make sure your first layer is well‑tuned for clean snap features and logos. If your tolerances run tight, you can scale the latch model down uniformly by 0.5–1% or lightly deburr the snap edges after printing.
