Dremel flyer launcher @ 30k RPM (check video)
Print Profile(2)

Description
Have you ever launched a flyer at 30 000 rpm? Well, now you can!
Have you ever had precise power control when launching a flyer? Now you can do that either.
This idea is inspired by Dremel Siren: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2088931-121-6-db-dremel-siren-v2-5-4-5-port?from=search#profileId-2257903
Warning! 30K RPM for the object this size is no joke.
Please wear eye protection, keep your head and hands out of the rotation plane, maintain distance from other people, and use caution.
If you try it, you do it at your own risk: I'm not responsible for your life choices.
Yet, it didn't explode for me when I printed it using PLA. Though I'm sure that after some wear and tear it might, so I designed a print guard for it.
The model is customizable, and the Fusion files are available for you to play with.|
To launch:
- Install the driver and the guard
- Slide in the flyer
- Set the rotary tool to the minimum speed, and turn it on
- Increase the speed smoothly, and the flyer will stabilize
Turn off the tool or quickly reduce the speed - the flyer will disengage when the shaft slows down
About flyers:
- New profile includes multiple models, see what you like
- Two-blade profiles deform at that speed, so not recommended
- Three blade profiles should be optimal (more blades increase the drag)
- The simple blade with a fixed pitch angle that doesn't require supports flyes good, but not great
- New flyer has dynamic shaped blades with variable pitch and shape across the length, but requires support. I do minimal sanding on the surface, it still flys great.
