Description
Elevate your home bar with this Cocktail Layering Tool.
Creating visually stunning layered drinks (like the B-52 or Pousse-Café) usually requires a steady hand and a bar spoon. This 3D-printable tool automates the process using a unique "Diving Bell" floating pontoon system. As you pour, the tool rises with the liquid, gently distributing the flow across the surface to prevent mixing and ensure crisp, clean layers every time.
How to Use
- Drop the pontoon into an empty glass.
- Mount the hopper on the rim, sliding the pontoon's shaft through the central hole.
- Pour your heaviest liquid (highest density) first.
- Slowly pour subsequent liquids into the hopper in order of decreasing density.
- The pontoon will float upward automatically, creating perfect separation!
Recommended Print Settings
- Material: PLA (Bambu Basic or Matte).
- Walls/Perimeters: 4-6 Wall Loops. This is critical to ensure the pontoon is airtight and watertight.
- Supports: Supports are required for the hopper arms and the internal pontoon cavity. The shaft needs to be smooth, so extra support is required.
- Speed: Set "Outer Wall" speed to 50 mm/s or slower to prevent the tall vertical shaft from wobbling during the print.
⚠️ Food Safety & Maintenance
- Food Safety: Please be aware that FDM prints have microscopic pores between layer lines that can harbor bacteria. For long-term use, it is highly recommended to coat the tool in a food-grade epoxy resin.
- Maintenance: Wash immediately after use with cool, soapy water. Do not put in the dishwasher (PLA will warp).
