Description

Description

This project is a precisely fitted heel pad replacement for SALOMON shoes, designed specifically for 3D printing. The model is fully optimized for additive manufacturing and includes integrated breakaway supports to ensure clean and accurate printing.
I used the soles in SALOMON VERSE 5.0 boots.

Dimensions

  • The original heel pad measures approximately 105 × 69 × 12 mm
  • The replacement part follows the dimensions shown in the diagram below.

If you're unsure whether the model fits your shoes, print the hollow test model — preferably in PLA — and check the fit before printing the final part.

Which version to choose?

The project includes two dimensionally identical versions that differ in how the screw holes are prepared:

  • A – screw holes are non‑through; you must drill them out with a 5 mm bit (this is the version I use on my own shoes)

  • B – screw holes include built‑in supports; no drilling is required

How to print?

For best performance, print in TPU 95A, which provides flexibility and shock absorption similar to the original heel pad. If TPU is not available, PETG is a solid alternative — stiffer, but still durable and functional.

Print settings:

  • nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • layer height: 0.2 mm
  • walls: 3
  • infill: 100%

!!!Before you start printing, apply a layer of PVP glue stick to the build plate to make it easier to remove the finished part!!!
