Description

Individuals with upper limb amputations or limited hand function often face significant challenges when using gym equipment such as cable attachments and weightlifting machines. Most gym equipment requires a secure grip which limits accessibility and independence for these users.

  • The purpose of the device 

The purpose of this device is to provide a prosthetic attachment that enables users to securely connect to gym cable attachments such as D- handles and bars as well as machine handles. This allows them to perform a variety of strength-training exercises safely and effectively.

  • How does it function?

 The device functions as an interface between the user’s prosthetic limb and gym equipment. It will include a secure mechanism such as a hook  or clamp connector that attaches to cables or handles. The design will distribute load evenly and allow controlled pulling motion while maintaining stability and preventing slippage during exercise.
