Princess Peach Stained Glass – Super Mario Odyssey

This Princess Peach stained glass window is more than just a 3D print—it’s an interactive, multi-part puzzle experience designed for advanced makers. Using custom translucent filaments and precise color placement, each piece must be carefully printed and assembled to create the full stained glass effect. The unique pause-and-insert method during printing adds a hands-on, creative challenge, making every finished window truly personal and rewarding. Perfect for those who love pushing the boundaries of 3D printing, experimenting with custom materials, and bringing iconic gaming art to life in a one-of-a-kind way.
 

How It Works:

1. Print all the individual pieces first in their respective colors. Using translucent PETG (or custom PETG/PLA blends) is recommended to achieve a gorgeous glass-like effect.

2. Arrange the pieces on a notebook or cardboard to keep track of their positions, just like a puzzle:

   

3. Print the frame of the stained glass window. On layer 12, the printer should pause. At this point, you can either:
   • Add a pause on layer 12, lower the bed manually, turn the part fan and auxiliary fan OFF, and insert all the pieces inside the printer without removing or moving the print plate, or
   • Use the following G-code snippet in layer 12 to safely lower the bed and turn off fans:

⚠️ Important: Always insert the pieces inside the printer chamber. Do not remove or move the print plate, as the print must continue in the exact same position. Keeping fans OFF ensures the pieces won’t be blown out of place. Check fans are off before resuming.

Tips for Assembly:

• Pieces should slide into place easily if inserted straight. Some may require a gentle push, but never force a piece unless you are 100% sure of its location.
   

  

• When using custom translucent filaments, you can increase the flow rate to 1.2 to prevent under-extrusion. Slight under-extrusion may even add a subtle texture effect to the stained glass.
