IFIXIT FixHub soldering iron case

This is a compact, all-in-one carrying case designed for the iFixit soldering iron. The goal of this design is to keep everything needed for a soldering job in one box, so you don’t have to carry solder, flux, or other supplies separately.

There is already another case design available for this iron, but it didn’t fit my needs. I wanted one box that holds not only the iron and tips, but also all the common soldering accessories. I also didn’t see much need to carry more than two different tip sizes with the iron, so the case includes storage for exactly two extra tips.

📦 What Fits Inside

The internal layout is designed to fit:

• iFixit soldering iron
• Power cable
• 2 extra soldering iron tips
• Brass wool tip cleaner
• Solder
• Flux / solder paste
• Solder wick
• Small extra tools or consumables

🧩 Assembly Notes

• The slots for the soldering iron tips are slightly larger than the tips.
  → Add a small piece of insulation tape inside each slot so the tips fit snugly and don’t rattle.
• The iron holder uses a simple locking mechanism:
  → Slide the top of the iron in first, then the 3D-printed spring gently pushes the iron into place to keep it secure inside the case.

🔩 Non-Printed Parts Required

• 6× M3 × 30 mm screws (latches and hinges)
• 1× M3 screw (6–15 mm length) for the iron holding stand
