Description

This is a Fan mount that can be used with my KallRax series of models - linked here - there are many similar designs out there, but this one suits my needs and shares a common faceplate with my other KallRax parts. Additionally, this fan mount has a grill to cover the intake/exhaust of the fan and also has captive M3 nuts to screw the fans into (thin nuts only). The print profile has a pause in it at the right height to drop the nuts into place, they're a slightly tight fit to ensure they cannot rotate and erode the plastic, so may need to be pressed into place with something; runing your finger over the top once seated to check theyre flush to underflush.

This is designed to be printed in PETG, please do not print in PLA as it may warp if there are warm components nearby. The profile should have it already but the best wall generator for this is Arachne.

This is to suit 40mm fans, the depth I have used is 10mm, but deeper fan can be used as long as you increase the 14mm bolt length by the same amount, i.e. for a 20mm deep fan you will need a 28mm long bolt.

Hardware:

  • 16x M3 THIN nuts (the ones on MakerWorld work)
  • 16x M3x14 Button Head Bolts
  • 4x 40mm DC fans, either 12V or 5V depending on what you're powering them with.

I have a long lead on my fans as they go into a 4way splitter that I can connect to Molex on a PSU.
