Description
I made this foldable model of a jaw jacker for ice fishing. The purpose was a) fit in a 5 gallon bucket b) be compact and EASY to deploy c) all parts are connected and not “loseable” d) easy trigger mechanism that does not require a string on the rod itself.
There is a small hole in the “trigger” that can fit a piece of metal. I used a broken fishing hook to insert into the hole. This makes the trigger stronger than just plastic and makes it so the trigger mechanism can fit in the eyelet of any rod. Cut the hook at the point just where it starts to bed (as seen in the picture). You can probably use some strong wire as well.
I used a piece of fishing line to tie the trigger to one of the arms.
Post pictures of your catches!!!
