Description
Extendable Sun Visor – VAG Group (MQB, MQB Evo & MEB)
This accessory was created to solve the problem of sunlight filtering laterally between the sun visor and the pillar. It was designed with AutoCAD, seeking the best compromise between reduced thickness and functionality, to allow the original visor to close perfectly "flush" against the car's headliner
🛠 Design Features
- Discrete Integration: The slim profile avoids bothersome bulk once closed
- Click-Feedback: During sliding, a series of small mechanical clicks stabilizes the extension in the desired position, preventing movement due to vibrations
- Recommended Materials: To withstand summer temperatures in the cabin, it is necessary to print in PETG, ASA, or ABS. PLA is not suitable for this use
- Optimized for AMS: some print profiles (the branded ones) are set to use PLA as an interface material for supports (50% density, "Snug" style), ensuring a perfect sliding surface and very easy support removal
🚗 Technical Compatibility (VAG Solution)
The design is based on the dimensions of the vanity mirror frame, which has remained standard across much of the Volkswagen Group range

💡 Development Notes
The project is continuously evolving. Thanks to user feedback and testing, the MEB Edition variant was recently implemented, addressing size differences found on electric SUV models compared to the standard platform
