A simple puzzle consisting of 6 pieces plus the base, representing an imaginative and stylized version of the Florence city skyline, featuring some of its major monuments.

The monuments represented are, from left to right:

  1. Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Florence Cathedral with the Ponte Vecchio in bas-relief.

    https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponte_Vecchio

  2. Basilica of Santo Spirito

    https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basilica_di_Santo_Spirito

  3. Palazzo Vecchio

    https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palazzo_Vecchio

  4. Basilica of Santa Maria Novella

    https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basilica_di_Santa_Maria_Novella

  5. Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Florence Cathedral, from another perspective.

  6. Basilica of Santa Croce

Assembling the puzzle is simple and intuitive; you just need to pay attention to mounting the pieces on the display base according to the correct sequence and direction; the slots on the base and the print side will help with assembly.

ATTENTION! The Basilica of Santa Croce seems symmetrical but is not: the correct orientation can be found by also observing the small “foot” present only on the left.

Originally, the profiles of the churches have spires surmounted by very thin and fragile crosses that always break; however, I preferred to leave them in case the puzzle were to be printed with increased dimensions.

In the design, I did not apply tolerances to the pieces, but from my tests, I never had problems with the interlocking parts, which must be strong enough to prevent the puzzle from coming apart too easily when handled.

I designed this gadget as a slim decorative item to display on a bookshelf or shelf; for those who want to propose it as a desk gadget, I have prepared a separate base with a pen holder function.
