Description
🐙 The Watcher in the Water – Lord of the Rings Bookend / Decoration

Bring a piece of Middle-earth directly to your bookshelf! This model depicts the fearsome Watcher in the Water, lurking before the West-gate of Moria (Durin's Gate). A must-have for every fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Lord of the Rings'
🛡️ Features:
- High Level of Detail: Featuring the iconic stone archway, realistic water texture, and the monster's menacing tentacles
- Atmospheric Design: Ideal for supporting your Tolkien collection or as an impressive standalone piece for display
- Optimized for Printing: The surfaces are designed to enhance textures like stone and slime – perfect for finishes with wash or dry-brushing
🎨 Tips for Printing & Painting:
- Infill: 10–15% (Grid or Gyroid) is sufficient for decoration. If you want to use it as a heavy bookend, I recommend a higher infill or adding weight in the slicer
- Material: PLA works excellently. For a "stony" look, PLA Marble or matte gray is particularly suitable
- Post-processing: I recommend a Dark Wash (black or dark green) to highlight the details of the bricks and tentacles, followed by a light gray Dry-Brushing for the stone effect
📜 Background (Lore):
"Something has crept or been driven out of the dark waters under the mountains. There are older and fouler things than Orcs in the deep places of the world." — Gandalf
Have fun printing! I would be thrilled to see photos of your results in the comments.
