AKMSU Thumbhole Handguard
Print Profile(1)

Description
An AKMSU style variant handguard.
It fit perfectly on my Cyma CM.040C as-is.
Seriously - just hit ‘’print''. Don't play around with it.
I sculpted it from scratch and it took ages, but it was worth it, as it fits perfectly and feels smooth on the hand, but with enough grip to grab on to. As for the bottom - I have attached a negative cylinder directly in the slicer - it's just Print&Go; no other modifications needed as far as that is concerned. Apart from sculpting, I did some meshing inside the CAD and slicer itself to make sure it has the exact measurements and tight and sharp fits.
Yes, it has multiple meshes of the same thing fitted perfectly - parts from before sculpting (with the exact measurements and fitting) and from after sculpting (for cosmetic and comfort matters) were blended as perfectly as I could to one another to make one solid and exact piece. So just disregard the few lines you see and simply slice it. It'll print perfectly smooth.
It'll have enough space for the cleaning rod to go inside.
No - the magazine doesn't hit the handguard, unlike the original. Which is why I called it a ‘’variant''.
I printed mine in PET-G HF; 6 walls at 0.20 layer height and 15% gyroid infill and it's basically indestructible. Way tougher than the standard stock injection-molder ABS handguard. However, I recommend ASA; it should be just as tough, but it won't need paint as it'll make it UV-resistant. Just - don't do PLA.
Compatibility: The entire .40 and .50 series have the same receiver. May also fit E&L and LCT (LCT AKs have the same standard as Cyma 04x series aka. VFC clones). However, I cannot guarantee. It is, however, bound to fit with maybe minimal modification (as in sanding the end that goes into the receiver to make it thinner or on the front mount as to make it shorter).
