Description

Product Introduction

“When the chill of ice crystals meets the warmth of movement.”

The Ice Crystal Concept  Footwear draws its design inspiration from condensed frost and naturally growing crystals. Ice crystals are typically perceived as sharp and cold, while shoes are meant to be soft and comfortable. This concept shoe is born from the contrast between these sensations—transforming sharp ice crystals into something soft and touchable.

The upper features clusters of ice-crystal-like decorative structures. Thanks to careful material selection, these “crystals” remain highly flexible, making the shoe appear cool and aloof on the outside, yet soft and gentle on the inside. It is not only a wearable 3D-printed fashion piece, but also an intriguing exploration of materials and form.

Recommended Filaments & Printing Notes

Recommended Filament

This shoe is best printed with Bambu Lab TPU 90A (Crystal Blue), a recently released filament by Bambu Lab. It offers excellent translucency and a gemstone-like color. The printed crystal decorations retain a clear, icy visual quality while remaining rubber-like and elastic. Even if you accidentally touch the “spikes,” they are completely safe, and the upper flexes naturally while walking.

Advanced Customization

For those seeking richer color contrast and visual depth, the model can be printed in separate parts and assembled to achieve a two-tone effect.

  • Use Bambu Lab TPU 90A (White) for the upper and outsole
  • Use Bambu Lab TPU 90A (Crystal Blue) for the midsole and upper decorative elements

The combination of blue and white enhances layering and creates a stronger, more striking visual impact.

About the Upper Decorations

For users with the highest demands for visual realism, the decorative ice-crystal elements are designed to be printed as independent parts. This allows experimentation with rigid materials:

You may try clear PETG, PLA, or even clear resin (SLA) to print the crystal decorations. These materials provide superior transparency and sharper edges, resulting in a look that more closely resembles real ice.

Note:
Rigid materials will reduce the upper’s flexibility, and the sharp edges will be harder. This option is best suited for static display models or short-term wear for photography, rather than extended everyday use.
