This 3D-printed enhancement kit is designed to bring your beloved astromech droid one step closer to the iconic screen-accurate look from the Star Wars saga! This kit adds several key components to significantly improve the detail on R2-D2's foot structure.

What's Included in This Enhancement?

This upgrade focuses on the subtle yet crucial details that make a huge difference: 

• Knurl Connectors (8 total): These eight cylindrical parts get installed on to the plain, non-detailed plastic nubs where the flexible tubes (often called "foot tubes" or "hydraulic lines") connect to the side legs. They feature a realistic knurled texture on the base, giving a precise, mechanical look to the connection point.
• Detailed Outer Leg Plates (2 total): These plates with holes get installed onto the featureless areas of the side feet. The new plates include two recessed circles each, providing the accurate mechanical detail to easily slide on to the existing plastic nubs before you slide the knurl connectors back on to the feet. No glue is needed for these plates.
• Central Foot Plate Cover (2 total): This plate is a cleaner, more realistic cover for the stripe on the front central foot, seamlessly integrating with the overall aesthetic. One goes on the front of the foot and the second goes on the back of the foot. Hot glue them into place.
• Rear Outer Leg Plates (2 total): Designed to be installed on the rear foot portion of both outer legs, offering a cleaner look. Hot glue them into place.

Printing & Finishing Tips

• Material: PLA Silk Silver works great.
• Color Recommendations:
  • Knurl Connectors & Plates with Recesses: Print in Silver or paint for a metallic finish.

No supports are needed and print with your favorite PLA Silk Silver Filament. For the plates, use the side facing down on the print plate as the visible side when you install. It has a great texture and sheen.
