Description

Minimalistic and compact 1kg filament-roller for top mounting (hanging).

Hardware needed:
• 608 bearings. These are standard size skateboard bearings. 8mm (inner diameter), 22mm (outer diameter) and 7mm (width).
• 4.2 x 50mm mounting screw. Or any other screw with similar dimensions.

Instructions:
• The included and printable bearing spacer has the same dimensions as those mounted in skateboard wheels. If you already have a metal spacer, no need to print that part.

Don't overtighten! But do use the screw as an adjustment for how freely you want the spool to spin.

That mounting screw gives the spool it's strength. Make sure it's long enough to reach the thicker part of the spool.

Enjoy a quiet roller. Cheers!

Changelog:
v1.02: Updated mounting screw hole geometry, for a slightly more secure fit.

I found that the offset legs where it screws to the wall conflict with the outer edge of the filament spool. The offset should maybe go the opposite direction, this would help or lengthen the legs.

Thank you for the feedback. with all the different filament spools I’ve used I haven’t experienced this. Would you mind sharing a picture for me to see what extra leg length would be required here?

I had the holder wall mounted that is why, it was dragging on the bottom bracket. With it roof mounted like you have in your picture it would hang away from the leg brackets. I would guess extend the legs 20 mm or so.
